1. What are the draft, length and width at the jetty?
   
The facility is located in the position (approx): 22°43.8’ N, 69°42.3’ E, and comprised of 8 multipurpose berths as detailed below: :

2. Can the jetty accommodate Cape Size or Panamax vessel alongside?

The port has the capability to handle Post- Panamax. 

3. Are  there any requirement of lightening of cargo in the mid sea?

   No, there are no such requirements of lightening of cargo in the mid sea.

4. What is the average turnaround time of a Panamax vessel carrying dry bulk cargo?

Depending on the cargo density and quantity to be discharged the average turnaround time is determined.

5. How many Tugs do we have?

Mundra Port has the following Tugs for assisting during the berthing and unberthing of the vessels.  The   following are the details of the Tugs available in the port:

Single Point Mooring (SPM):

 1. What is the draft at the SPM?

     The draft at SPM is 32 meters.

 2. What is the maximum DWT vessel MPSEZ can handle at SPM?
             
 The maximum DWT vessel MPSEZ can handle at SPM is of 5,00,000 Tons.

 3. What shall be the turnaround time for VLCC ?

 Average turnaround time of VLCC at SPM is 40 hrs

Stevedoring:

1. What is the capacity of the Gottwald cranes?

Four Mobile Harbour Cranes (HMK 300 EG- Gottwald make) with handling   capacity of 750 MT/ Hr and 100 MT on hook capacity.

2. What is the specification of the grabs used as attachment to the cranes?

The details of grabs available are as follows:
Clamshell –  5 CBM, 27 CBM and 35 CBM
Orange peel – 5 CBM and 16 CBM.

Dry Cargo Storage and Handling:

1. What is storage capacity of the warehouses?

Port has substantial storage space comprising 1, 37,000 Sq. m. of closed warehouses and   7, 08,000 Sq. m. of well demarcated open storage space.

2. What are the kinds of commodities that are stored in the warehouse?

Commodities like wheat, rice, sugar, fertilizer are stored in the warehouse.

3. Are you carrying out bagging for fertilizer / grain cargo?
      
Yes

4. What is the average bagging rate?
      
 The average bagging rate is 6000 MT / day.

5. What is the system of cleaning the conveyor and what about the frequency of cleaning?

In case the conveyor is simultaneously used for discharging different cargo then cleaning is done after every vessel operation. The mobile hopper at the jetty are cleaned using water while conveyor is cleaned sometimes by giving dry run and/or manually by laborers at the transfer towers.

6. Do you have facility of handling food grains?

Port has Wheat cleaning facility of 12000 MT/day capacities synchronized with the Export conveyor system which ensures clean wheat of international standards, as also the Rice sorting and grading facility of 500 MT/day capacities along with a multiple bagging unit.

Liquid Cargo Storage and Handling:

1. Are all the jetties compatible for discharging the Liquid cargo?

Jetty No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 are compatible to discharge Liquid Cargo.

2. How many pipe lines are there from Jetty to the Tank Farm?

Presently we have 9 pipe lines varying from 8 inches to 24 inches in diameters, to handle Black Oil, White Oil, Heated Oil, and Chemicals etc.

3. What is the system of cleaning the pipe lines and what about the frequency of cleaning?

Cleaning of the pipe lines are carried out after handling of cargo from / to vessel. Different kinds of cleaning processes like fresh water, hot water, steam with environment friendly cleaning agents are used depending on cargo handled and to total satisfaction of Customer /  Surveyor.

4. What kind of storage facilities are available for liquid cargo?

Tank farms with 73 tanks and a storage volume of 3,42,000 kilolitre for storage of liquids like edible oils, petroleum products and chemicals. We have 7 pump houses and 5 weighbridges in the liquid terminal.

Railway Services:

1. How many loading / unloading lines  do you have?

Seven Lines with full rake handling capacity inside the Port Area and 5 lines in  R & D yard.

2. How many locomotives are owned by the port?

We have two WDS 6 locomotives

3. How many rakes a day does the Port handles ?

 A maximum of  21 rakes can be handled in a day . Presently on an average  the Port handles 12 rakes a day.

4. Can the Port the handle liquid cargo?

 Yes, the Port has the facility and one of the line is equipped to handle liquid cargo.

Container Handling:

1. Are you handling container at the port?

 Yes (there are each 2 container terminals) :

 Mundra Port and Special Economic Zone Container Terminal (MPSEZCT)

 Mundra International Container Terminal (MICT), which can handle the container cargo.

2. Is the Port capable of handling Double Stack Container rakes?

Yes, the Port is equipped to handle double stack container rakes and it has received it first trail train.
